Starting Up
There's a lot to consider when setting up a new voluntary group from scratch.
All sorts of questions need to be addressed, such as:
- What is the best structure for our group?
- Who else do we need to involve?
- What governing document do we need?
- Should we open a bank account straight away?
LCVS Capacity Building Team can assist you through all the necessary stages of setting up and developing a new voluntary or community group, from firming up your original idea, putting you in touch with others, helping you run your first meetings, and developing the required documents.
If you are thinking about starting up a new organisation or group, take a look at the LCVS starter pack. This will guide you through some of the question that you will need to answer to make sure your group has the best possible start.
