Finance
How you manage your funds, salary payments, expenses, activity costs and overheads can be the backbone of your organisation. It can enable your organisation to demonstrate effectively how you have translated public and charitable monies into activities, projects and services. When done efficiently, it can help your group report to funders and regulators alike, and enhance public confidence in what you are doing.
However, when not addressed, and when financial management slips, it can cause fundamental problems for your organisation and be an unnecessary and expensive drain on resources to fix the problems.
LCVS Capacity Building and Financial Services can assist your organisation with financial management issues through a range of information, advice and direct services, including:
Community Accountancy:
LCVS has a team of community accountants who can help organisations with the complexities of charity, company and taxation law. Even a small, unregistered group has a legal requirement to maintain proper accounting records and prepare statements of account on a regular basis. The team can provide training, assist in setting up accounting systems or undertake preparation of year-end accounts. They can provide specialist advice on all charity accounting issues, and answers to any issues regarding accounting requirements, VAT or PAYE. They also carry out independent examinations and regular payroll services.
LCVS community accountants have helped groups to overcome financial problems, to provide information necessary to obtain funding, and to manage themselves more effectively. Your group could also benefit!
Payroll:
LCVS can undertake the payroll function for your organisation, setting up the systems to make sure your staff are paid efficiently and without any administrative hassle.
Training:
See our Training Section for details of financial management training available.
