Neighbourhoods
Liverpool Community Network's (LCN's) Neighbourhood Team was established in 2006 to help and support local residents and community groups to influence decisions being made in their area. The Neighbourhood Team does this by building links with the community, bringing various partners together, signposting, and since October 2007 organising and facilitating ward based engagement events.
The LCN Neighbourhood Team work by bringing together the Voluntary, Community and Faith groups along with local residents to meet with the Police, PCT, Liverpool City Council officers, Ward Councillors, and others to identify, prioritise and resolve issues that are affecting their community.
The LCN Neighbourhood Team support Liverpool City Council in the roll out of their Participatory Budgeting (PB) programme. PB is about local people being involved in deciding how to spend part of a public budget, providing an opportunity for resident empowerment and involvement.
Community Workers Forums (CWF) are also delivered across Liverpool City Council’s Neighbourhood Management Services areas (NMS). They are delivered every six weeks, in each of the areas, providing support and networking opportunities for paid and unpaid people who work for the benefit of their community.
